Victor's Journey
In Frankenstein, Victor, goes through quite the transformation.
The play was staged so that in Part 2 Victor never leaves the stage even while his location and circumstances change around him. This gave the feeling that he was disconnected from reality.
In order to do this, his costume changes were designed into the blocking of the play, his bloody lab coat taken off by an angry mob as they grab him, his winter coats left on the sled for him to pick up.
Here are his main 4 looks...
Frankenstein Family
-the adult men-
The Frankestein costumes were set in Regency Era.
I wanted the men to all have a signature color.

The Creature's Journey
Just like Victor, the Creature changes as well.
Rather than coming to a demise the Creature is growing up and learning the ways of people. He goes from a fetus like state to that of a disfigured man.
Here are some of his looks...
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, the adopted sister of Victor and also his love interest has the most costumes out of anyone in the show!
Her looks were designed to help with context since the set had only subtle changes.

The Female - Renderings
Female Creature Inspiration
The Female Creature
One of my biggest design challenges was the Female Creature.
The actress also played Elizabeth and the Creature costume needed to be quick-changed into her Wedding Gown. She also begins her scene rigged to the stage.
She performed a dance onstage and I wanted her to look similar to the Creature but more refined.
Other Women
The De Lacey family women and Victor's maid, Justine, were also rendered since their costumes were a mix of building, pulling and buying.
The De Lacey family is poor and these women represent the lower class in the play.
